I have just posted this tournament on teamer. I have tried to include the most regular players only . This is because of the need to make sure players are selected in balanced teams. It will be difficult to include players who do not respond to Teamer and just turn up on the day. Unless anyone else volunteers I will ref on the day as I think we need one. I think we should get back to Walking football and minimum contact. Depending on players and teams involved but I plan to have a round robin approach .
Any queries please contact me. Usual subs of £3 will apply.

Would anyone who would still like to take part please either confirm your attendance on Teamer or email me asap PLEASE. Looks like we are going to have a really good turnout 26 have confirmed so far so should be a good session. At the moment it looks like we can have 4 teams. Also I have agreed with Nigel Clarke and Kaie Lawrence to be our 2 goalkeepers for the day. Anyone got any questions please let me know. I will sort the teams out on Friday/Saturday

Well done to all involved at todays event. It was great to get some Thursday and Friday only players to meet each other. All the games were played in a good spirit and competitive manner. Lots of good play in evidence. There were some very tired legs out there at the end but I think everyone enjoyed the occasion . As soon as I get the photos from Chris (my son in law) I will let you see them.
Let me just remind everyone that it isn't too late to show your interest for the Somerset league team, just let Chris Payne know before the end of the month.

Thanks Keith for arranging this mornings session, you did a grand job and thanks to Eric for supporting you with the matches. Really enjoyed the games and also playing with and against the Thursday payers. Got to be honest felt a little jaded after the Christmas/New Year, hopefully the fitness will improve as time goes by.
Already expressed interest in the league team and hopefully will get to play a part in this new league as it gets under way.
Thanks again everyone!
Jon

Just to echo what's already been said by Keith and Jon and to thank Keith for organising and reffing and Eric for helping and reffing. Very enjoyable session played in a very positive and friendly (and competitive!) spirit. We must do this again at a time when it is quiet league / tournament wise. Thanks guys, great to play with and against you. Roll on Cardiff next week...

Glad everyone enjoyed the day. If there is sufficient interest I could organise another session. Need to make sure it doesn't clash with any other game players may be involved in. If the next one goes as well as the first perhaps we could make it part of the calendar even 3 or 4 times a year. What does everyone think ??
There is another idea that I have thats a bit different. Perhaps its best to do a bit of local research among players first to gauge interest.

I agree with your proposal Keith to hold this friendly in-club tournament a few times a year at the 'quieter' times tournament-wise.
