Interesting post on Facebook by a member of another walking football group. I've taken out the club name as I don't have permission to share: "Another week comes to end and xxxx Walking Football are proud to say xxx people attended sessions this week. However if you can't play by the rules and the ethos of our recreational sessions then please go and find a normal 5 a side football session somewhere else. Respect other players especially the older or less able. Respect the shouts of running or just stop running/jogging. Stop moaning. Stop taking it too serious, someone has to be on the losing side, its about fun. I for one and I'm sure the majority agree that i feel so lucky and privileged to be playing the game i love again at this late age in life. Stand up for YOUR session and dont let the odd ones spoil it. #Respect Play slow, Play Fair and Play Well"
It sums up nicely how I (and I'm sure others) feel sometimes! :-)

Haha, I promise it wasn't, but it kind of sounds like it could have been! 😂

I like the way we mix and match skills, ability and fitness. And genuinely take care to start the session with a briefing or reminder about including everyone, and being mindful of players physicality, like helping Keith by giving him space. I think the spirit is lovely and I look forward to the Thursday sessions.
